Colts Team Managers and Secretaries
The development of our colts is one of the highest priorities in the club and we
are working hard to train sufficient coaches to help improve the players.
However the organisation and management of a colts' team is vital to enable the
players to compete in a organised and safe environment. If you are not a
cricketer and don't want to become a coach, then you may want to help as a team
manager or team secretary.
Each age
group will be expected to work as an individual unit with the appropriate number
of managers and coaches plus a team secretary and scorer. The club will try and
provide an umpire if required.
Each team
will be supported by a Cricket Development Officer (help for Coaches), Colts’
Manager (help for Team Managers) Colts’ Secretary (help for Team Secretaries),
Colts Representative (help for players), an Equipment Manager (help for managers
and coaches) and a Child Welfare Officer (help for all)
Team Manager
Responsibilities:
- Arrange kit with Equipment Manager and return at end of season
- Arrange exact fixture dates with opposition managers
- Pass on details to fixture secretary and grounds co-ordinator
- Advise squad of match dates
- Select team with coach and advise players of match details
- Arrange for umpire and scorer
- Make travel arrangements for away games
- Prepare ground if home match - flags, stumps, tables and chairs
- Attend match with team
- Enter scores onto web site for 13+
- Write match report and send to press
- Keep record of those that have played
- Select trophy winners at end of season with coach
- Produce team statistics as required
- Liaise with Colts' Manager
Team Coach Responsibilities:
- Prepare and carry out coaching sessions
- Select team with manager
- Attend match with team
- Liais with Cricket Development Officer with respect to specific
requirements for coaching
- Nominate players for district trials
- Select trophy winners at end of season with manager
Team Secretary Responsibilities:
- Hand out and collect membership forms
- Collect subscriptions and pass onto colts secretary
- Arrange for refreshments for home games
- Keep a register of who attends coaching sessions
