Sponsorship and Grants
Petersfield Cricket Club is very thankful for all the support that they get from
the local community.
Estate Agents, David Neilan is one of the main sponsors of the club. David
Neilan has been kind enough to continue to be our club shirt sponsor this year
and the club received a cheque from Petersfield Branch Manager, Mark at their
recent training session.
Petersfield
Cricket Club is delighted to confirm that it was awarded £10,000 by the “Awards
for All” Big Lottery Fund.
Awards for
All England is supported by the Arts Council England, the Big Lottery Fund, the
Heritage Lottery Fund and Sport England.
They award
grants of between £300 and £10,000 for people to take part in art, sport,
heritage and community activities, and projects that promote education, the
environment and health in the local community. Petersfield CC has been awarded
the maximum possible.
The grant
was spent on training equipment, indoor facilities rental, bowling machine,
portable training pitch, fixed nets at Penns Place and training coaches to ECB
standard.
East Hampshire District Council awarded the club £2000 in
funding towards the vandal protection to The Heath pavilion.
The DBC Food Service have kindly agreed to donate the food to all the club
events and to provide the basics for all club teas.
Charter Ballooning have donated 1st Prize in our 2008 raffle which is
a romantic flight for two in a hot air balloon from the Taro Centre in
Petersfield. It is a “charter” or “exclusive” flight meaning there are just the
prize winner and partner/quest plus pilot. The flight is worth £550.
Petersfield
CC were awarded a £400 grant by Hampshire Cricket Board in 2008. The club have
spent it on a new water heater for The Heath pavilion, two new kettles for
The Heath pavilion, the repair of the hoover in The Heath pavilion,
First aid kits for The Heath and Penn’s Place pavilion and
First aid kits for each of the senior and colts teams
This
follows a £183 grant from Hampshire Cricket Board towards funding the colts
indoor cricket nets in 2007.
Return to
Sport is a national programme aiming to get adults aged 16+ into sport. Funding
is available to support local clubs in running 8 - 12 week introductory
programmes aimed at anyone who has never played a particular sport before or for
anyone wanting to take a sport up again after a break. The programme can help
clubs increase their membership or help develop new teams.
Petersfield
CC received £410 towards their 2007 indoor net sessions and helped a number of
adults take up cricket again after a break. They are now playing cricket matches
for the 3rd XI.
