Sponsorship and Grants

Petersfield Cricket Club is very thankful for all the support that they get from the local community.

Estate Agents, David Neilan is one of the main sponsors of the club. David Neilan has been kind enough to continue to be our club shirt sponsor this year and the club received a cheque from Petersfield Branch Manager, Mark at their recent training session.

Petersfield Cricket Club is delighted to confirm that it was awarded £10,000 by the “Awards for All” Big Lottery Fund.

Awards for All England is supported by the Arts Council England, the Big Lottery Fund, the Heritage Lottery Fund and Sport England.

They award grants of between £300 and £10,000 for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities, and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community. Petersfield CC has been awarded the maximum possible.

The grant was spent on training equipment, indoor facilities rental, bowling machine, portable training pitch, fixed nets at Penns Place and training coaches to ECB standard.

East Hampshire District Council awarded the club £2000 in funding towards the vandal protection to The Heath pavilion.

The DBC Food Service have kindly agreed to donate the food to all the club events and to provide the basics for all club teas.

Charter Ballooning have donated 1st Prize in our 2008 raffle which is a romantic flight for two in a hot air balloon from the Taro Centre in Petersfield. It is a “charter” or “exclusive” flight meaning there are just the prize winner and partner/quest plus pilot. The flight is worth £550.

Petersfield CC were awarded a £400 grant by Hampshire Cricket Board in 2008. The club have spent it on a new water heater for The Heath pavilion, two new kettles for The Heath pavilion, the repair of the hoover in The Heath pavilion, First aid kits for The Heath and Penn’s Place pavilion and First aid kits for each of the senior and colts teams

This follows a £183 grant from Hampshire Cricket Board towards funding the colts indoor cricket nets in 2007.

Return to Sport is a national programme aiming to get adults aged 16+ into sport. Funding is available to support local clubs in running 8 - 12 week introductory programmes aimed at anyone who has never played a particular sport before or for anyone wanting to take a sport up again after a break. The programme can help clubs increase their membership or help develop new teams.

Petersfield CC received £410 towards their 2007 indoor net sessions and helped a number of adults take up cricket again after a break. They are now playing cricket matches for the 3rd XI.
